BBQ Championship and Car Show

Que and Cruz Summer Festival

Jul 17, 2010 10:00am - 8:00pm

Small Country Campground 4400 Byrd Mill Rd Louisa Va 23093

Championship barbequers will pit their best ribs, chicken, brisket, and pork in a contest certain to delight crowds of onlookers at the 3rd Annual Que & Cruz fundraiser festival at Small Country Campground in Louisa on July 17.

More than 50 BBQ chefs from across the nation will compete for $10,000 in prizes. Winner of the 2009 competition went to the Jack Daniels International Contest in Nashville and the American Royal World Championship in Kansas City. Grand Champion of the 2009 event will represent Virginia again this year.

Upwards of 80 antique cars and trucks will compete for honors in the vintage car show. The first 50 cars will receive a Dash Plate. And a half dozen of the region’s finest bands will play in the rustic song shed on July 17th. Vendors will round out the show providing food, entertainment, souvenirs, T-shirts, crafts, and prizes. The gate will open at 10 am. A $5 donation will be collected at the gate. Kids under 10 are free.

Last year’s Que and Cruz netted more than $10,000 for the local fire department. All proceeds from this year’s fest will go to the Zions Cross Roads Fire & Rescue and to a variety of children’s funds.

Call Bill Small at 540-223-6329 or visit the Que and Cruz website.
